Kellogg Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in ATLANTA, Georgia

In your role as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:

  • Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production

  • Performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment including replacing failed components such as bearings, motors, starters, solenoids, etc

  • Providing preventative maintenance, equipment setup and change over for production use

  • Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments

  • Dismantling defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools

  • Preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs

  • Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts as required

  • Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic, refrigeration troubleshooting and repairing of packaging and production machines

  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance

  • Training lower level maintenance mechanics

  • Complying with all OSHA Safety and Health rules

  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area

  • Effectively communicating with peers, supervisors, vendors and upper management on a daily basis

  • Documenting work tasks using computerized maintenance management system

  • Performing other duties as assigned


As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Manufacturing, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Four years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, but a minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with a related technical degree; or, successfully completed Apprenticeship Program

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and other alike software to appropriately record work orders and PMs

  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in team environment and interface and communicate with production line workers

  • Basic troubleshooting knowledge

  • Be multi-crafted with skills including electrical power and controls, PLCs, mechanical, print reading, welding and fabrication. Have light machinist duties

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to pass written and practical mechanic test

  • Past experience with automated maintenance system and refrigeration is a plus

  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs


  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field or closely related discipline

  • Previous welding experience
