WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
In your role as Maintenance Mechanic at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:
Performing repairs of production equipment including replacing failed components such as bearings, motors, starters, solenoids, etc.
Inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments
Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments
Lubricating and cleaning parts on the production equipment
Dismantling defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools
Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts as required
Preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs
Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, MIG/TIG, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance
Complying with all OSHA Safety and Food and Health Safety rules and regulations
Performing other duties as assigned by management
Responding to equipment break downs in a timely manner
Demonstrating the ability to communicate technical subjects verbally and written to co-workers and vendors
WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?
As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Manufacturing, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Two – three years’ experience in an industrial plant environment as a Maintenance Technician
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and other alike software to appropriately record work orders and PMs
Ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in team environment and interface and communicate with production line workers
Basic troubleshooting knowledge
Basic of pneumatic or hydraulic systems
Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
Associate’s Degree in a technical field or closely related discipline
Previous welding experience
