Kellogg Finance Associate, Advertising, Trade, and Promotion in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan

Reporting to the Kellogg North America (KNA) Record to Report Team Lead, you’ll prepare and analyze various Advertising, Promotion & Trade reporting. WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

In your role as a Finance Associate, Advertising, Promotion & Trade, you will be part of our success by:

  • Preparing and analyzing various Advertising, Promotion & Trade reporting (e.g., Pull-throughs; Coupon First Activity; Coupon Offer Log; monthly AP&T Risk & Opportunity Tools)

  • Preparing ties out and uploads the weekly coupon redemptions along with processing general ledger transactions specific to AP&T spending and accruals

  • Performing and completing closing validations between the ION Master Data Table and the GL as well as between SAP, BI and BPC (Business Planning & Consolidations) for AP&T related spend

  • Performing account reconciliations and complete them within specified timeframe to ensure clean balance sheet accounts

  • Processing, uploads and ties out Marketing Authorization Forms (MAF) to create and fund AP&T Internal Order Numbers (IONs) across KNA

  • Creating all manufacturers issued coupon codes (OCRs) utilizing the external LauNCH database

  • Supporting Sarbanes-Oxley key controls (e.g., Section 404 Testing) through documentation and testing as well as supporting external auditor's quarterly documentation

  • Maintaining the AP&T ION Allocation Table in the BPC APC application for KNA

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

As well as a hunger to learn and grow, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with related experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Problem solving skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with related experience

  • Proficiency with ERP financial modules such as SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling Modules)

  • Advanced Excel Skills and experience in SAP, BPC and BI

  • Experience working in a shared services, process driven or delivery center environment

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP

  • Expertise in Record to Report function including best practices, technologies, processes, procedures and tools

  • Training and certification in Six Sigma or LEAN

  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and specific time constraints

  • Processed and Packaged foods industry experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access
