The purpose of this role is to develop strategies to ensure that Manchester Plant can deliver legal food safe products. To initiate, implement and manage MSS and Pest Prevention systems and practices to ensure that Manchester Plant is in compliance with Company policy and statutory legal obligations.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Working within our team as Pant Sanitarian you will be part of our success by:
Maintains Master Sanitation Schedule and detailed SSOP’s for all equipment and infrastructure. Audits against consistent application and execution. Adherence to global policies and procedures;
Plant sanitation program execution and results. Sets the direction for ongoing sanitation verification activities. Ensure plant is in a sanitary condition at all times;
Ensures all safety requirements related to sanitation are met (chemical storage/MSDS/PPE’s etc)
Engages the plant leadership team in sanitation challenges requiring cross functional support;
Troubleshoots persistent sanitation issues to identify deficiencies in sanitation program or equipment design.
Conducts clean up inspections and verification/validations (sanitation, allergen, other);
Assess and mitigate risk associated with construction and major maintenance.
Partners with plant and engineering equipment manufacturers to ensure compliance to hygienic design principles;
Understands process and functional interdependencies. Recognise and escalate identified risk or opportunities to improve plant performance;
Responsible for review of environmental monitoring data and development of corrective/preventive actions;
Working with in-house Pest prevention and Contracted Service providers to maintain current policies and practices are compliant with Company policies and Statutory Obligations;
Develops and implements all sanitation/pest control training for all employees;
Engages technical experts to troubleshoot sanitation challenges, identify technology and methodology to improve sanitation effectiveness.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a science based subject;
CIEH Food Safety and CIEH HACCP or equivalent;
Broad knowledge of food manufacturing operations and thorough knowledge of relevant legislation standards;
Ability to lead, develop and gain respect from a professional/specialist team and to deal with suppliers, external legal officials and other Kellogg departments.
