Kellogg Environmental Health & Safety Specialist - Hourly in AUGUSTA, Georgia

We’re looking for someone that puts employee safety at the top of their priority list. As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist you provide training and technical support for an EHS area at one our state-of-the art plant locations. You’ll also manage and interpret EHS data so you can provide a better overall work experience. Excited for what lies ahead? We are too.


  • Tools for Success – We’ve got the systems, we just need your organization and management skills to maintain plant EHS data management systems, using SAP to obtain quotes and place orders and serve as backup to manager for on-call situations

  • Insight Driven - Maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, while serving as lead for occupational health requirements and also assisting in the completion of regulatory reports for EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies

  • Data Driven – You’ll track, report, and analyze Safety & Environmental performance metrics as well as gather information related to sustainability programs, track as needed while also managing maintenance of facility EHS action registers

  • Set the Pace – Your passion will show as you’ll participate in plant environmental and safety committees and serve as safety training coordinator, developing and maintaining training plans with vendors and department leads



  • High school diploma and previous experience in an administrative role

  • Contacting and communicating with government agencies and Kellogg’s Corporate Safety Team

  • Must be comfortable wearing assorted personal protective equipment as required

  • Must have a good working knowledge of the plant

  • Limited travel and work coverage beyond the normal hours, shift and on weekends/holidays

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and safely work from elevated work surfaces

  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments

  • Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental regulations including but not limited to: air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste regulations

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, including Plant Leadership Team, Front Line Leadership, employees and site personnel

  • Personal computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and SAP applications for the creating of safety work orders, tracking of safety work orders, development of spread sheets to track safety records, and the development of safety trainings.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Should possess strong leadership, training, problem solving, and decision making skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and leadership skills

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations

  • Georgia Waste Water License

  • CSP or ASP Certified

  • Position compensation range: $26.77 to $28.88
