Kellogg Senior Food Technologist in BATTLE CREEK, Michigan

Come grow with us and advance your career in the food service industry. As a Senior Food Technologist you will lead food process technology projects and programs including scale-up and introduction of new Kellogg products, product quality improvements, productivity increases, and capacity changes in our Supply Chain. Innovate with us by developing, managing, and executing food product projects. You will use your creativity and problem solving skills to help ensure that the Kellogg’s brand upholds the quality we are known for. Engage with us by developing, managing, and executing food product projects.

As a member of a dynamic and experienced team, working with an extensive team of contactors, you will play a role in making us the most innovative food company in the world. We are looking for someone who is motivated, innovative and a good team player who can develop, and translate research, extracting insights that help create experiences to delight our consumers.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Skilled Leadership and Drive to Succeed - Directing activities and leading a team of analysts

  • Strong Analytics - Demonstrating and/or developing expertise in the operation of key analytical instrumentation and direct/perform analyses

  • Consulting and Partnership - Consulting with customers to appropriately apply testing to meet project objectives

  • Troubleshooting - problem solving a variety of technical issues on ingredients and finished products, involving aspects of ingredient functionality, processing, stability, and shelf life

  • Driving the Business - Maintaining state-of-the-art food science knowledge and laboratory skills to meet business objectives

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in science or engineering with extensive related experience

  • Technical leadership with a customer service oriented mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills, creativity and flexibility to successfully conduct project work and investigate technical problems on a variety of product and processing issues

  • Your skillset in leadership, cost consciousness, communication skills, and diplomacy will promote good relations with all facets of management and other technical and scientific disciplines

  • Flexibility to be a Project Manager, Planner, Coordinator, Communicator and Senior Technical Expert

Bonus Points:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Food Science or related field with significant experience in a related role

  • Experience in food physical properties testing with specialization in cereal chemistry

  • Knowledge of fats and oils and their functionality in food
