Kellogg Sanitation Supervisor in BATTLE CREEK PLANT, Michigan

As a Sanitation Supervisor you’ll be working in our Battle Creek plant making it a safe, reliable and productive environment while supporting our production. We have a lot of product to make and we want someone like you on our team. With your go-getter, can do attitude we are positive you will fit right in.

HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Coordinating is Key - creating and adjusting schedules for employees to prepare the plant to be audit ready every day (be on your toes!)

  • Going the Distance - assuring cleaning procedures are maintained and updated and conducting plant wide and departmental mandated training

  • A People Person - you will interact with various personalities from union employees to plant directors. You are responsible for collection of monthly environmental samples, monitoring of pathogenic organisms in plant. Tracking, trending and communicating results to stakeholders

  • Meeting the Schedule - planning cleaning schedules and proper allocation of resources (labor, supplies, equipment and time) while planning and executing for successful changeovers, sanitation weekends and daily activities. Also, being accountable for HACCP, food safety and sanitation training for the facility

  • Detail Oriented - conducting daily inspections of tasks assigned to the union employees, good manufacturing practices, health checks, safety inspections and food safety audits. As well as, maintaining and writing detailed clean up procedures and SSOP’s for all plant equipment

  • We know you can jug gle… - Ensuring Microbial program compliance and sanitation compliance, while managing vendor relations related to food safety and sanitation

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus demonstrated Sanitation and supervisory/management experience

  • Previous HACCP certification and thorough technical knowledge of sanitation & food safety

  • Knowledge of chemical usage and safety

  • Strong understanding of applicable regulations, GMP and Food Safety standards in accordance with regulatory bodies (FDA, USDA, CFIA, etc)

  • Technical aptitude along with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Ability to effectively function in a union environment and promote positive labor relations

  • Understanding of general industrial safety requirements

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift and some 12+ hour days, including weekends and holidays

Bonus Points:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Microbiology or related field

  • Proven experience in managing processes

  • Certified in Pesticide application

  • Significant knowledge and experience of food processing and packaging

  • Experience in auditing and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements
