Kellogg Sanitation Operator in CHICAGO, Illinois

As a Sanitation Operator in our Chicago 31st Street Plant, you will take particular care in upholding the integrity of our sanitation department. It’s the heart of what we do every day. Whether at work or at home, maintaining a clean environment is key to success. In this position you will be committed to our zero waste and recycling efforts. Your pride in cleanliness will make you a great fit for our company and is a key ingredient to our success.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Owners Mindset - You’ll be responsible for all zero waste and recycling duties such as; maintaining a master sanitation schedule, operating the main baler, and weighing and tracking all food waste.

  • Embracing Agility - You will be cleaning equipment and infrastructure as well as performing all plant janitorial responsibilities. You will be also operating forklifts, manlifts, and commercial scrubbers.

  • Prioritizing quality, safety and housekeeping - Actively seeking ways to improve plant safety and quality and maintaining an open dialogue with the lead and supervisor regarding your day-to-day success.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior based safety systems

  • Basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate basic English

  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

Bonus Points:

  • Food manufacturing experience

  • Experience operating a mechanical sweeper / scrubber

  • Experience in quality / food safety within a manufacturing environment
