Kellogg Employee Relations Manager III in JACKSON, Tennessee

Do you enjoy driving employee engagement while also being able to manage conflict? As an Employee Relations Manager, you’ll serve as part of the Human Resources Team at the Plant and will work along side the Site HR Manager with employee complaints and handling. You’ll partner with the plant staff including Supervisors, Managers, Generalist and Hourly employees as appropriate. The City of Jackson and surrounding communities is a great place to live! The Kellogg’s manufacturing facility sits in the outskirts of Jackson; however, the site is located within 30mins of a half dozen great towns and activities. Jackson, Milan, Lexington, Medina, Cedar Grove, Henderson and a few other communities combined will provide everything a person desires all within a short distance of the Kellogg’s site. A few highlights include, FIVE state parks, SEVEN State or Private Universities, Top State Ranked Private and Public ranked K-12 Schools, and all the shopping or dining options you can handle. If a weekend getaway is needed that involves “big city life”, Jackson sits right between two major cities, with Nashville and Memphis located just over an hour away. HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Set the Pace – You’ll drive the overall management of Employee Relations activities for the plant including: providing direction and be a leader of basic employment law and putting in place the proper plant policies and rules

  • Collaboration is Key – You’ll serve as liaison between Site HR Manager, Kellogg North America Manufacturing Business Unit HRBP and Global Business Services (GBS) as appropriate

  • Fresh Thinking – you’ll ensure timely communication with union and management regarding new initiatives and policies, including relative regulatory updates. Being the go-to is your thing.

  • Tools for Success - Driving manager and employee adoption of HR technology, service delivery model and programs. Redirects HR inquiries to the most efficient and effective resource (technology, service center, etc.)

  • Agility – by directing, assisting, communicating, and monitoring all phases of employment issues, contractual interpretations, labor relations issues, and past practices, it just sounds like there isn’t something you can’t handle. Don’t worry though – you will have plenty of support!

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management (or other business-related field)

  • Strong positive employee relations skills, problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal skills, organization and analytical capabilities

  • Professional HR Certification desired

  • Strong computer skills and intermediate experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results oriented

  • Flexibility in working hours as the role will involve travel, and shift and weekend work is sometimes a requirement.

Bonus Points:

  • Master’s Degree and/or Professional HR certification
